The five pieces in the Striker Blue collection all feature an eye-catching light blue and gold color scheme, which Messi himself says comes straight from his own life. “The Striker Blue colorway is inspired by the colors of my home, Argentina, and it reflects the passion and precision I try to bring to the game,” said the footballer. “Stanley 1913 remains part of my daily life, especially for mate, and together we’ve created something that’s about connection — to culture, to everyday moments, and to the drive that pushes us all forward.” Also inspiring the collection’s colors is the “blue hour,” the period of twilight that happens just before sunrise and just after sunset. This directly invokes Messi’s “Start early, stay late” motto, symbolizing the dedication it takes to truly transcend in the world of sports.
Along with classic tumbler, flip-straw bottle and jug silhouettes, the collection emphasizes a daily ritual important to Messi’s own life: a morning mate (mate is a traditional drink made from the dried leaves of an evergreen holly, a South American native plant). “I’ve been fueling my mornings with mate from my Stanley 1913 mate system and gourd for as long as I can remember, so this partnership truly reflects and celebrates my daily ritual,” said Messi. Also known as the “Drink of the Gods,” it contains caffeine and a variety of vitamins and minerals for a natural energy boost, efficient digestion and, allegedly, enhanced performance.
